Durango Casino is the latest Las Vegas property opening. It is located in the southwest part of the Las Vegas Valley in an area that did not have a full-service casino for miles until now. Station Casinos is the owner of Durango Casino.
There are several unique features at Durango Casino. It is one of the few casinos in the country that has ample glass to let in daylight. There is a large selection of table games, slots, video poker, and electronic tables. The best feature may be its sportsbook.
The sportsbook at Durango Casino is a part of the STN Sports brand. There are three bars within the sportsbook. This includes an outdoor one with video poker.
The outdoor seating area is part of The George Sportsmen’s Lounge restaurant. It includes patio dining and bar games like cornhole and shuffleboard. The George Sportsmen’s Lounge is open 24 hours a day. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menu options include appetizers, flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, burgers, short ribs, steak, pasta, and seafood.
Durango sportsbook details
The 10,000-square-foot sportsbook has 205 seats that are open to all. There are several VIP areas of various sizes, including booths and lounge areas. It has 4200 square feet of digital LED space. There is a digital screen wraparound at the bar. There are seven betting windows and more than a dozen kiosks.
The sportsbook screens are viewable from the open seating, VIP areas, indoor sports bars, and The George Sportsmen’s Lounge restaurant. There are also screens inside the restaurant, in the outdoor dining area, and at the exterior bar.
Other Durango Casino amenities
The sportsbook is just a small part of the 83,000 square feet of gaming area at Durango Casino. There are over 60 table games and 2300 slots. Tables include six types of blackjack, two types of craps and roulette, baccarat, and poker pit games like Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em.
Minimum bets in the pit start at $10. The high limit salon has two types of blackjack games that have a lower house edge than the ones in the pits that start at $100. High limit baccarat starts at $300. There is a special semi-private room behind the main salon tables with more baccarat games. There is also an attached bar.
The best video poker game is 8/5 Bonus Poker, which holds 0.83% with perfect play and five coins wagered. It is available in denominations from $1 up to $100. The $1 version has a royal flush progressive at the bars. The best video poker game below the $1 denomination holds 2% with perfect play and five coins wagered.
STN Sports information
STN Sports is the brand Station Casinos uses for its sportsbooks. There are 15 retail sportsbooks in the Las Vegas Valley. STN Sports also has a mobile betting app.
While the app can be downloaded from the STN Sports website, Nevada law requires bettors to visit a casino to open an account. Nevada is the only state with this requirement.
