It is the day that North Carolina sports bettors have waited years to come. Effective today, March 11, 2024 at noon, statewide mobile sports betting is open. It is now legal to place a bet on a computer or phone almost anywhere in the state. The only exceptions are reservations. However, the Caesars Sportsbook app works on both Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian reservations, as well as throughout the state. This includes Harrah’s Cherokee and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River.
The same could be said of the land where Catawba Two Kings sits. However, the tribe failed to secure a mobile betting partner by the deadline to launch today. The only betting that takes place on its tribal land is on the IGT kiosks in its retail NC sportsbook.
All North Carolina bettors must be at least 21 years old. Wagers must be placed within the state line. Geolocation software is used to determine where the wager originates. Visitors from other states may place legal sports bets in North Carolina, just as residents can.
The grand opening falls perfectly with the start of the ACC Basketball tournament. That means the NCAA tournament is right around the corner. That is one of the most exciting times in the year for legal sports betting.

New Player Bonus Offers
All eight online North Carolina betting sites offer bonuses to new players. It must be a new account. Players who placed bets in another state like Tennessee or Virginia before the North Carolina launch with the same brand do not qualify for the offers described below. These offers are also available to bettors visiting from other states if they never had an account at one of these sites. For example, players from Georgia and South Carolina, where sports betting is not legal, may cross the state line and make bets on their phones.
Read the terms and conditions of each offer to ensure that you know how long you have to make the bets and how much must be wagered to clear the bonus. Failing to understand the rules of the bonus may cause a disqualification by placing bets that are not covered by the wagering requirement or waiting too long to put the promotion into action.
If you register for an account through a link on BetbyState, we may receive compensation. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER.

Players may hit all eight online sportsbook bonuses in North Carolina if they never had an account. Make sure to play within your bankroll. If you think a bonus is too large for your current bankroll, wait until you can afford to play. If you think a bonus is too small to bother with, wait until major events. Online sportsbooks oftenoffer better deals around March Madness and the NFL playoffs.
