There are three North Carolina casinos. These are Catawba Two Kings, Harrah’s Cherokee, and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River.

Catawba Two Kings does not have live table games. It has some electronic ones. The options are baccarat, 6/5 blackjack, craps, and double zero roulette. Live table games are expected at Catawba Two Kings later in 2024. A new addition to the temporary building will host the table games.

Table games at Harrah’s Cherokee

There are about 160 live table games at Harrah’s Cherokee. Most are in the pits. There are three sets of high-limit salons. One is dedicated to baccarat. There is also a blackjack salon and one for the highest limits of games. 

The cheapest pit game is Roll to Win Craps. That is a hybrid game that uses real dice. It only has one dealer. There are no chips. Bets are made on screens like traditional electronic table games. Roll to Win Craps typically starts at $10 and offers five times odds. The field pays double on 12.

The minimum bets for poker pit games listed below start at $15 and go up to $25 during peak hours. This is the also general rule for craps, crapless craps, 6/5 blackjack, and double zero roulette, though you may find $10 games during the slowest hours. 

Harrah’s Cherokee 3/2 blackjack games start at $25 and go up to $50 during peak hours. The stand on soft 17 blackjack tables and single zero roulette start at $100 up to $300.

Harrah’s Cherokee has a large selection of electronic table games. There is a stadium with 6/5 blackjack, big wheel, baccarat, and double zero roulette. There are two Shoot to Win Craps machines. One has double odds, while the other is five times. There is also video Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. The Ultimate Texas Hold’em game is one of the best North Carolina casino games

Harrah’s Cherokee Poker Room

Harrah’s Cherokee also has a 32-table poker room. It deals cash games and tournaments. The main games are 1/3 and 2/5 no limit Texas hold’em and 1/2 and 5/5 pot limit Omaha. Cash game rake is 10% up to $7 with a $1 jackpot drop. There are no limit hold’em tournaments at 7pm and 10pm Monday through Thursday, 8pm on Fridays, and 10am on Saturdays. 

The Harrah’s Cherokee poker room is open 24 hours a day on weekends and closes from 6am to 10am during the week. All tables are eight-handed. It is next to the Caesars Sportsbook.

Table games at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River

There are about 60 table games at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River. It does not have a poker room. However, one is under construction during a massive expansion project. A 10-table poker room is expected to open at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River in the second quarter of 2024.

Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River typically has the same starting minimum bets as Harrah’s Cherokee. Limits take longer to increase with business levels there. This means that a $25 game at Harrah’s Cherokee may only be $15 at Valley River. 

Most of the table games are the same between the two Cherokee casinos with two exceptions. Valley River does not deal Crazy 4 Poker. Instead, it is testing DJ Wild

The electronic table game selection is small at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River. The options are big wheel, double zero roulette, and Shoot to Win Craps. The Ultimate Texas Hold’em machine was removed during the construction related to the casino expansion. 

Sportsbooks

Both Harrah’s Cherokee casinos have full-service sportsbooks with ticket counters and kiosks. The main Cherokee has a destination sportsbook with stadium seating and fan caves for VIP treatment. Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River has a few dozen seats with a sports bar and lounge area. Caesars Sportsbook operates these betting shops. 

Catawba Two Kings has sports betting kiosks. It does not have any betting counters.
