Now that the 2023 NFL season is underway, you are going to hear people include the words “spread,” “betting,” and “underdog” into their everyday vocabulary. Betting on the NFL has turned into an absolute monster, but there is money to be made and that is why so many people are willing to get involved.
Putting together a parlay is a great way to make some money while betting on the NFL as you can unlock a big payout quickly. Most people are going to focus on picking outright winners for a parlay, but you are better than most.
Football is all about scoring touchdowns, and you are going to find some great betting odds when it comes to picking an anytime touchdown scorer. There will only be around 3-5 touchdowns in each game, and so you are really going to prove how smart you are by nailing these bets.
After taking a close look at the 2023 NFL Week 1 schedule, here are five players that are going to find the end zone this weekend.
Running Backs Lead the Way
When you are going to make a parlay on anytime touchdown scorers, you are going to want to start with the running back position. Even though the 2023 NFL season is going to be all about quarterbacks, there will be running backs that have a big day in Week 1.
The first running back to focus on is Travis Etienne Jr. of the Jacksonville Jaguars as that team is in Indianapolis to face the Colts in Week 1. Indianapolis is expected to be a bad team this year, and it might actually benefit them to lose most of their games.
Etienne had a breakout season in 2022, and the Jaguars are going to be solid again this year. Take the odds of +140 as Etienne will find the end zone against Indianapolis as it’s a big night for the Jaguars on offense.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be trying to upset the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, and this is a game that won’t feature hardly any passing at all. Both teams are going to want to run the football, and this game will look like one that was played in the 1950s.
It’s unclear if Pittsburgh will be able to pull off the upset, but they are going to at least find the end zone a time or two. Bet on Najee Harris at +125 to score a touchdown in that game as Pittsburgh will keep the ball on the ground.
Wide Receivers that Reach Pay Dirt
The Baltimore Ravens are hoping to bounce back this season after struggling a bit during the 2022 campaign. Baltimore is set to host the Houston Texans in Week 1, and it’s hard to imagine that this game is going to be close at all.
The Ravens are going to light up the scoreboard in this game, and they have a nice new toy that they want to show off in wide receiver Zay Flowers. Lamar Jackson will be looking for the youngster often in this one, and it’s going to be easy to find him in this one.
You can get Flowers at +200 to find the end zone in this game, and that’s a bet that you would be an idiot to pass up on.
The Tennessee Titans are typically a team that loves to feed the ball to Derrick Henry every play that he is on the field, but opponents have finally started to catch on. Tennessee is in New Orleans in Week 1 to take on the Saints, and this is going to be a challenge for the Titans to find the offense at all.
Things will be easier on offense for Tennessee this year as they brought in superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in the offseason. Bet on Hopkins at +195 to find the end zone as the Titans might be willing to just throw the ball his way every time that they get close to the end zone.
Quarterbacks Can Run
Being a quarterback in the NFL is no longer simply about throwing the football as teams want their signal callers to be able to run as well. There are some great dual-threat quarterbacks in the league, and some players are able to score from anywhere on the field.
Justin Fields is one of those players for the Chicago Bears and they are at home this weekend against the Green Bay Packers. Fields still hasn’t proved that he can actually throw the football, but his legs work better than most other players.
Green Bay is going to be doing everything in their power to keep Fields in the pocket in this game, but that’s just not easy to do. Fields will likely score from about 50 yards out in this one as opponents just can’t seem to slow him down.
Take the young Chicago QB at +135 to find the end zone in Week 1 as Fields lifts the Bears to a win over the Packers.
